We’re looking for “Sangenjaya lovers” and “festival enthusiasts” to help liven up the festival together!
The “Crafting Volunteers” (also known as: Art Volunteers) start a bit earlier, from September, in preparation for the main event. Every year, two groups play a big role: the “Decoration Team,” which mainly creates decorations to adorn the shopping streets that become the festival venue, and the “Handicraft Team,” which makes recycled goods from used flags to support disaster-stricken areas. From those who have been participating for over 10 years to first-timers, we have a lively group of members every year. If you’re new, please come to an information session. We look forward to your participation.
◆Introduction to Activities◆
No. 1: Let’s decorate the festival town! Decoration Team
We create decorations to transform the streets of Sangenjaya into an “Art Town.” If you like crafting, love Sangenjaya, or want to have fun with everyone, please join us!
■ Activities: Creating decorations (brainstorming ideas, crafting, decorating, etc.)
■ Activity period: From Sunday, September 1st until the main event
※ Activities are mainly on weekends, but you can participate according to your schedule
■ Age requirement: Junior high school students and above
No. 2: Support Eastern Japan! Flag Recycling Handicraft Team
The Flag Recycling Project started with the aim of supporting areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake. We create recycled goods using flags that were displayed in shopping streets. These goods are distributed at the festival, and in exchange, we collect donations that are sent to the disaster-affected areas. If you want to participate in support efforts or use your handicraft skills, we welcome your participation.
■ Activities: Creating recycled goods from used flags and other materials. (Examples: Eco bags, tote bags, aprons, etc.)
■ Activity dates: Every week from Saturday, August 31st to Saturday, October 12th ※ Activities are on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays
■ Age requirement: Junior high school students and above

Please come dressed in comfortable clothing as we will be walking around the shopping streets that will serve as the venue.
